Green Program
“Climate Friendly Living”
Active Energy is excited to announce that we have teamed up with Offsetters to launch a green option for our customers. Active recognizes the harmful effect of carbon dioxide emissions to our environment. Heating your home with natural gas is cheaper and more flexible than electricity, oil or coal, but still emits carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, contributing to climate change. A typical home releases around 5 tonnes of carbon emissions into our atmosphere. Active Energy has taken the positive step of offering customers the option of offsetting their carbon dioxide emissions.
You can make a difference by selecting our green option and show your commitment to the environment. One hundred percent of all green funds collected by Active Energy will be directed to Offsetters, Canada’s first and leading provider of high quality carbon offsets. The Vancouver based organization works with individuals and businesses to calculate, track, reduce, and finally offset their greenhouse gas emissions.
Offsetters’ projects allow clients to contribute to social and economic innovation while at the same time addressing their climate impact. They are recognized by organizations such as the Pembina Institute, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Carbon Concierge for offering high quality verified offsets, ensuring that your household can be both warm and climate friendly. Offsetters’ funds are invested into local and international renewable energy and energy efficiency projects that achieve tangible reductions in greenhouse gas emissions that would not have taken place without its involvement. Please take some time to visit their website, www.offsetters.ca, to learn more about this organization.
